Marshall 704 Engine Block

The engine block, sometimes referred to as a cylinder block, is the bottom end of an engine. Here, the crankshaft spins, the camshaft is held, and the pistons move in the cylinder bores. The cylinder head is placed on top of the engine block, which allows the pistons to move up and down and turn the crankshaft.
Common problems with Marshall 704 engine blocks range from external engine coolant leaks caused by the block cracking or a loose core plug, to wear to the cylinder liners and piston rings. It is a fairly common problem to have porous liners, the liner itself can degrade about a quarter of the way down the piston liner and cause mixing of fluids. The best way to deal with this is to rebuild the engine by replacing the liners, and pistons and rebuilding the engine using a complete engine rebuild kit. If you find an issue with your engine block, we stock a wide range of Leyland 4/98 engine block parts to help with repairs and restoration projects. Our parts and components are expertly remanufactured by our team at Tractor Spare Parts Ltd to ensure longevity and performance upon installation.
We make up engine kits specifically tailored to your engine, but for this we need your engine serial number – found on the top of the engine block (see here). Contact us today with this serial number and we can help you with the required parts.
As well as Marshall 704 engine block parts, we stock a wide variety of other Marshall tractor parts including those for the cooling system, oil delivery, electrics, gaskets, and fuel systems.
