In the engine block (or cylinder block) at the bottom end of the engine, the crankshaft spins, the camshaft is held, and the pistons move in the cylinder bores. On top of the engine block, the cylinder head allows the pistons to move up and down and turn the crankshaft.
One of the most common problems you may encounter with the Leyland 4/98 engine fitted to the Marshall 702 tractor, is porous liners where the coolant and the oil mix and you observe milky oil in the sump. If you have porous liners this can be diagnosed by a pitting that you can feel with your fingers on the inside of the liner about 1/3 of the way down. This indicates that it is time for a new engine rebuild kit for your engine, and we can help you.
