The hydraulic system in your tractor must be in top condition for the reliable operation and high performance of your Marshall 604 tractor. The hydraulics at the rear of the tractor function to work the implements on the back of your tractor. Be it a log splitter, tipping trailer, hay tedder, mower or mixer you need the hydraulics to be working so that you can get the job done. The pressure that your hydraulic pump generates needs to be sufficient to run your implements and with these tractors being 40 years old now, the hydraulic pumps can be worn. Therefore, we offer a pressure gauge which can be plugged into the auxillary port to get a pressure reading. This is the second port of call for the troubleshooting on the hydraulics section, after the filters have been checked for cleanliness. You should get 2500-2600 psi on a Marshall 604 hydraulic pump – anything less than this and you should consider that you may have a tired and worn pump.
