Tractor Spare Parts are specialists in Nuffield, Leyland and Marshall Tractors. We stock a lot of used parts as well as re-manufacturing of parts to the original standard and, where appropriate, we try to improve both the design and materials used.

It was the restoration of a Leyland 285 Synchro which paved the road to Tractor Spare Parts as it stands today. Andrew Griffin and his father, Michael, started the restoration when Michael wanted to use the old tractor on the family farm and for his cabinet-making and joinery business. Having previously worked as a fitter for the Burgess group in their Leyland dealership in Derby, Michael fancied a return to the Leyland marque after years with a Ford 5000 and a front-end loader. Little did Andrew and Michael know how difficult the restoration would be, or what it would lead to.

Finding it difficult to source the tinwork for the tractor, especially the door frames and mudguards, Andrew set about drawing the parts and making the tooling for their re-manufacture; luckily he had trained as a tool maker with a well-known construction equipment company. 

Andrew has had an engineering workshop since the age of 14 and with the new project underway, this increased in size to accommodate lathes, CNC milling machines, presses, etc. While in the midst of the challenge of rebuilding the Leyland, Andrew realised that, maybe, other enthusiast were trying to find parts for these old tractors. So, he made a few pairs of each of the doors and mudguards, and the seed of Tractor Spare Parts was planted.

From these humble beginnings of two spare parts, Andrew used his unique eye for detail and his experience in tooling design to manufacture more and more parts. Gradually, the stockpile built up into a complete range of parts for Nuffield, Leyland and Marshall Tractors.

When the decline in industrial engineering came at the outbreak of the recession, Andrew focused more on the tractor parts and the company Tractor Spare Parts Ltd was born with a professionally designed website to offer an online shopping experience worldwide.

As BMC and Leyland engines are being fitted in vehicles other than tractors, we are now seen by other industries as the BMC engine specialists, able to offer wearing parts for BMC and Leyland engines fitted in many vehicles, from boats to lorries, buses and commercial vehicles.
