And here we are, in Part 3 of the blogs about the braking systems of the Leyland middleweight tractors. When I set out with this blog topic, I never thought it would go over to 3 blogs worth of information. I know I have said it before, and I will say it again, brakes are SO IMPORTANT! Maybe that is why I feel that I do not want to skip the information and make it shorter.

The brakes on the Leyland middleweight range of tractors is a topic that I could write about for hours. If I had a £1 for every time it was said that Leyland brakes were made of cream cheese, I swear I would not have to work anymore. The brakes on Leyland tractors do not have a good reputation, and that is putting it mildly. It seems like all year has been a race against time to do certain steps of the renovation before the winter comes. Firstly, so that we can do the work before the mud and the worst of the weather stops us, but also so that we will be warm during the winter.

We are used to a wide range of customers calling us. We get customers who know exactly what they need, right down the part number. We also get customers who barely know one end of a tractor from the other. Both extremes, and everything in between, is completely ok. We all have to learn somewhere, and we have all been new to the vintage tractor world at some point. Helping all manner of customers is one of the best parts of the job.

So this week it is very topical to write a few words about getting ready for a tractor show, as that is exactly what we are doing. We are getting ready for holding a stand at the Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show, which is being held at Newark Showground on the 4th and 5th November 2022.

Supplying parts for the Nuffield, Leyland and Marshall marques might be the mainline of business we offer, but how often do we stop and wonder where these parts are going to and what type of tractor they are going on?
