AG39 - This Glow plug works on the 12V volt system. Originaly the Leyland Lightweight range of tractors worked on a 9V electrical system. The majority of tractors have now been converted to the 12V system as the 9V glow plugs have been difficult to get hold of for many years. The majority of tractors now use this AG39 glow plug.
To convert to the 12V system, simply bypass the ballast resistor, part number BTJ2877, which is located under the tractor dash (Glow plug connector, part number 12H288 can be used for this job).

Fitted to the BMC 950, Leyland 1500, and Leyland 1800 diesel engines.

Fitted to Thornycroft 90 marine engine.
